MEET THE TEAM

CHARLOTTE REES
FOUNDING DIRECTOR

Bidding can be hugely rewarding, yet stressful and lonely at times. I hope that our WIBAP community will enable our members to share great experiences as well as help our industry to overcome challenges that we all face on a regular basis.

I’m personally so excited to see what the future has in store for us and I’m honoured to have met such amazing and inspiring people through WIBAP already!

Please feel free to message me any time - I will always try to help in any way I can!

Challenging gender inequality isn’t easy, and working in a male-dominated industry means I’ve witnessed or experienced gender-related biases (in addition to those that women face every day). Coupled with working in a function often seen as “admin” (ergo female), my main reason for being a part of the WIBAP team is to improve gender equality in the workplace.

I’ve worked in proposals for almost 8 years and it’s a specialism not many are aware of, so I’m also keen to raise the profile of the profession by building networks, sharing information, and guiding those new to the world of bids.

Like most people, I ended up in bids without really intending to. I started my first bid role in 2013 and have realised that, while it's a profession I'd previously not heard of, I'm actually not that bad at it.

I've been lucky enough to be involved in WIBAP from the beginning, and now my focus is to ensure the content we produce aligns with our goals and conveys our message. What I love most about WIBAP is that, while it's a professional network, it feels more like a group of friendly, like-minded people getting together to support each through the ups and downs of bidding.

Our profession is evolving at a fast pace and provides an incredibly diverse range of opportunities at all levels.

It’s a really exciting time to be a part of this community as career pathways become more formalised. There is an opportunity for us all to help shape the direction of the profession and put the support networks and training in place to help each other succeed. To me, that’s what WIBAP is about.

I have worked within construction bidding for two years and joined WIBAP to learn from like-minded people. My role within WIBAP is to design and create graphics, newsletters, social media posts (LinkedIn and Instagram), resource material and conference material, whilst keeping all of that plus the website

on-brand.
